Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a tent liner and a tent swag?

A tent liner provides wall-to-wall fabric coverage, completely hiding the tent’s frame and vinyl. In contrast, tent swag consists of individual fabric panels draped strategically along the rafters or center poles. Swagging allows you to soften the industrial look of the aluminum frame while still leaving portions of the clear top or white vinyl visible, offering a more architectural, airy aesthetic.

Can swagging be added to any tent style?

Swagging is most effective in frame tents and clear-span structures, where the metal rafters provide secure attachment points for the fabric. It can also be used to wrap the center poles of sailcloth tents, adding a touch of softness. During a site visit, our team can determine the best attachment points based on your specific tent dimensions and wind loads.

Is tent swagging available in different colors?

While our standard high-quality white sheer is the most popular choice for its ability to catch event lighting, we can provide custom colored fabrics to match your wedding or brand palette. We recommend lightweight, flame-retardant materials that drape naturally; heavier fabrics may sag too low, interfering with guest sightlines or high-reaching floral decor.

How does wind or weather affect fabric swagging?

Because swagging is installed inside the tent, it is protected from rain. However, in high-wind conditions, fabric panels can move or “billow.” We use professional-grade tensioning and discrete attachment hardware to ensure the fabric remains secure and elegant, even if the tent’s side curtains are open to the breeze.

Does swagging interfere with the installation of chandeliers or greenery?

Not at all. In fact, they are often designed to work together. We typically install the fabric swag first to create the “tracks” or “paths” for your decor. We then coordinate with your florist or our lighting team to hang chandeliers or greenery paths that nestle between the fabric folds, creating a layered, high-end look.
